PROPERTY HISTORY
The Heirs property was once a dairy farm. Given the fertile soil and uniquely positioned appellation, the owners saw this as an ideal destination to plant their roots and develop their dream winery. In 2007, the Heirs vineyards were planted: 20 acres of Chardonnay grapes, and 20 acres of Pinot Noir. The old dairy barn was renovated into today’s Event Center and The Collective tasting room was created in 2016. The Custom Crush winery facility was also erected that year.
LOS CARNEROS
Heirs is located in the renewed AVA location, Los Carneros. Known for its cool climate which brings the cool winds in from the West, the Chardonnay and Pinot grapes thrive because of the 30 degree temperate shifts. The property is just a short 45 minute drive from San Francisco, 15 minutes from downtown Napa, and 10 minutes from the Sonoma plaza. Heirs property is fortunate to be centralized in an optimal location for its vines to thrive in its very own micro-climate location.
WINERY & VINEYARD SUSTAINABILITY
Maintaining a sustainable winery facility for all winemakers to be a part of a greater environmental future of wines.
Sustainability is integrated into the vineyard, and winery business strategy. There are numerous high level sustainable practices that are being used for an environmentally conscious impact from our winery and vineyard, including, but not limited to, a comprehensive recycling water program.
The water that is used on the property, including the winery and tasting rooms, is natural water that gets recycled into our property pond and redistributed into the vineyard via drip irrigation for a second life adding nutrients in the fields. Our property sheep have made a home around the vineyards by grazing the unwanted weeds in between the vine rows. As an overall business, we strive to conserve and protect the environment and maintain relationships with the greater community when producing quality wine.
